FAQ – Essential Oils
Essential oils are highly concentrated aromatic extracts that are obtained from a variety of plant material including flowers, roots, fruits, leaves, seeds, resins, and woods.
Essential oils offer many benefits and are often enjoyed for their aromatic properties when diffused or applied to the skin. Each essential oil offers specific benefits and uses. For example, diffusing lavender oil at bedtime is a wonderful way to promote a deep night of sleep. For more recommendations on how to use essential oils, check out each product page for Isagenix's Essence Oils.
Certain essential oils can be added to foods and beverages to invigorate flavour and aroma. Content, TumBliss, Defense Shield, Lavender, Lemon, Frankincense, and Peppermint are safe to ingest according to the product's directions. Add up to one drop of Isagenix Essence Essential Oil to at least 8 fluid ounces of liquid. Because essential oils are extremely potent, even a small amount can provide excellent flavour and benefits. Try dipping a toothpick into the oil and stirring it into your shake or cleanse drink. Airway™ Blend, Tea Tree Essential Oil, or Eucalyptus Essential Oil are not intended for internal use. When in doubt, do not ingest any essential oil.
Isagenix recommends enjoying your Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil out of stainless steel or glass or stainless steel containers as some plastics are known to be incompatible with essential oils. However, mixing a drop of an Essence by Isagenix Essential Oil into your IsaLean Shake in a plastic shaker cup should not be a problem as the oil will mix with the other shake ingredients, decreasing its concentration.
When using an essential oil topically for the first time, it is recommended to test one drop in an inconspicuous area. Using a carrier oil such as Isagenix Coconut Application Oil can minimize skin irritation or sensitivity. If irritation or discomfort occurs, discontinue use and consult with your doctor.
Diluted essential oils can be applied to most areas of the skin. It is recommended to do a patch test the first time you are using any essential oil. Do not apply oils near the nose, eyes, or ears.
Isagenix does not recommend using Essence Essential Oils during pregnancy or while nursing. As with any Isagenix Product or System, it is always best to consult with your physician before beginning to use any essential oil.
Essence Essential Oils can be enjoyed by the entire family by using a diffuser in a large, well-ventilated area. Contact your child's doctor before applying any essential oil topically. Ingestion of Isagenix's Essential Oils is only recommended for adults age 18 and over.
It is always recommended to consult with your physician before using any Isagenix product, essential oils included, if you take prescription medication or have a medical condition.
Pets such as dogs and cats have a sense of smell that is far more sensitive than ours, making it important to consider your pet before diffusing essential oils. It s not recommended -- for people or pets -- to diffuse essential oils in poorly ventilated or enclosed areas. To be safe, it is best to consult with your veterinarian to identify any oils that may be harmful to use around your pet.
